In 1948, E. Fred Phillips opened an electrical wiring business in McMinnville, Tennessee known as Phillips Electric. Three years later, Mr. Phillips expanded business operations to include the repair of service station equipment. By 1966, the main focus of Phillips Electric was servicing equipment in the petroleum industry and our name was changed to Phillips Sales and Service. In 1972, Calvin D. Brown Sr., the son-in-law of Mr. Phillips, acquired ownership of Phillips Sales and Service. The business was incorporated in December of 1991.
After the passing of Mr. Brown in 1998, Dave Brown and Joey Wilcher took over business operations and are currently operating the business. Derek Wilcher, the great-grandson of Mr. Phillips is our service manager and Jessica Newman, the great-granddaughter of Mr. Phillips, is our office manager.
Four generations have carried our business for over 60 years and is continuing to grow through the progression of the petroleum industry.
